Let us join hands together for the best:Rebita Singh, Executive Member, Mahila Samity Delhi

It's an immense pleasure to see that the Bishnupriya Manipuri Nagarik Samity is getting ahead for the development of women along with the society. They arranged a get together on 21st Dec 2008 at Jai Ambe Farm House,Jhatikhera more,Najafgarh,New Delhi-43 for the first time with the agenda of forming a Mahila samity.

People from all the sectors of Delhi came inspite of the foggy day.This get together programe is organized with some aims but none got bored. Everyone was playing cricket,football,badminton etc.inspite of the age difference. All enjoyed the day long program starting with breakfast and a delicious lunch.

There was a short introduction of all the women present at the spot. And finally the organization was formed.The president, vice president, general secretary, coordinator and executive members were selected. Mrs. Lakshi Moni Rajkumari was given the post of President, Nandita Sinha as Vice president, General Secretary Arti Sinha, Coordinator Tripti Sinha and executive members - Anjali Sinha and Rebita Singh.

Seeing my name as an executive member made me feel proud. This gives me a chance to show what we women can do for the upliftment of this segment in our society. However, I know it will take time but "when there is a will there is a way.

I would be more than happy if all of us join hands together for the best.

    Hope, our women realises their responsibilities and importance of indivisual contribution in addition to the attitude to work in a group. Without women, the wheels of the chariot of BM movement can not accelerate. Very glad to see the Mahila Parisad and hope that this parisad will not not disappoint us by taking various initiatives as far as it can.

Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council: Few Pertinent Questions (Part I)

By Rebati Mohan Sinha On last 25th March 2010 there was an announcement in the floor of the House that the Government of Assam has agreed on principle to form three separate Social Economic Development Councils for Bishnupriya Manipuri, Nath Yugi and Maimal. And now the Cabinet Committee has given its nod. It will be placed in the House (not yet placed) and once it is passed, then a Ministerial Committee would consult the stake holders i.e. these three communities, regarding their aspirations and would send its recommendation accordingly to the Central Government for further action within the next two months.
