By Dilip Sinha A prominent academician of the North-East, Prof Kali Prasad Sinha died on June 2 at 5.10 pm at Divyashram, East Kachudharam near Silchar. Prof Sinha was born on January 3, 1937 in a small village called East Kachudharam, Silchar. Well-known all over India and abroad for his sterling contributions to Philosophy, Indology and linguistics, he has more than 30 books published reputed publishers of India. KP Sinha was an exponent of Bishnupriya Manipuri Linguistics. His contribution to Linguistics, Socio-linguistic studies and literature concretised the foundation of Bishnupriya Manipuri language and literature. He was a student of world famous Linguistic Prof. Suniti Kumar Chatterjee. He did his Ph.D on The Bishnupriya Manipuri Language studies from Jadavpur University and D Litt from Bardhawan University, West Bengal.
