Nagarik Samiti Delhi celebrates Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur Abhirbhav Tithi

The Bishnupriya Manipuri Nagarik Samiti Delhi and NCR successfully organised the 140th birth anniversary of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur in the capital city on October 25, 2009. The programme which ran the whole day was dotted by cultural programmes and speeches on the life and philosophy of the Great Saint Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur.


The day began with the speech by Kabindra Purkayastha, MP, Silchar, describing the life and work of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur. He said Great people are above community, their contribution is for humanity.

He was followed up by Jogendra Sinha’s brief speech on the role and contribution of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur to the society.

Haridas Sinha, Ex-President, Bishnupriya Manipuri Nagarik Samiti Delhi and NCR, also spoke on this occasion.

Paritosh Sinha, Hindustani Classical singer, sang on this auspicious occasion. The classical dances performed by Bandana, Monica Rajkumari and Kanika Rajkumari were well appreciated by the attendees.

    I'm totally unsatisfied in that day. One of our beloved person Dr. Ranjit Sinha who left at 1145 hrs showing his highness in the Utshav, this type of personality never to be invited in the events. The function execution is not like our cultural heretage. Our high culture needs "lai Chandan" to every one who were present in the function, more over No " Bhug" for Sadhuthakur on the day. Even we have seen in Durgapuja, Bhug of Mata prepared by Bharman, but here we found every one came to show their highness. A president alone couldn't possible to executive all programme. It has to be pre-planned. Every one want to sit on chair, no one wish to perform his/her "Seva' to the function. We are seeing this function last three years, unfortuniately impression of our Manupuri Sampradai going down day by day in Delhi. We should not proud for our dignity. Every one is equal for this festival.

Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council: Few Pertinent Questions (Part I)

By Rebati Mohan Sinha On last 25th March 2010 there was an announcement in the floor of the House that the Government of Assam has agreed on principle to form three separate Social Economic Development Councils for Bishnupriya Manipuri, Nath Yugi and Maimal. And now the Cabinet Committee has given its nod. It will be placed in the House (not yet placed) and once it is passed, then a Ministerial Committee would consult the stake holders i.e. these three communities, regarding their aspirations and would send its recommendation accordingly to the Central Government for further action within the next two months.
