Delhi Police seeking license from Puja Organisers

The New Delhi-based Bishnupriya Manipuri Nagarik Samiti may have to do bit of paper work while organizing the birth anniversary of Shree Shree Bhubeneshwar Sadhu Thakur on October 25 in the city.

This has come in the light of Delhi Police advertisement published in The Indian Express, New Delhi edition, on August 26, 2009. The attention-seeking advertisement has been carried out keeping in view the festive season which the city would be experiencing with the mela, Ramlila and puja.

“All (such) gatherings must have proper permission from the concerned authorities,” the advertisement reads. “In order to avoid last minute inconvenience, the application process for obtaining license has been started.”

On submission of the application form, “clearance will be obtained from the local Police, Traffic Police…Application are available at the reception counter of the Licensing Unit, Defence Colony, New Delhi”.

The last date of receiving application forms is on September 2, 2009.
