Bishnupriya Manipuri Writers on Demand

Views

By RK Rishikesh Sinha, New Delhi

Very soon the bishnupriyamanipuri.com would be registering over 100 devoted visitors per day, 3000 per month. And rest 3000 new readers from all over the world would be eating out our articles and write-ups. So, on an average 7000 visitors per month the site would be fetching!

It has never been before that the brand Bishnupriya Manipuri would be circulating its literature produced by our writers and for the Bishnupriya Manipuri community.

People have started knowing us - for good reasons and intentions. They have started seeing the value that we are in the path of creating original niche literature. Soon our Bishnupriya Manipuri writers would be not only known to us but to the whole world. They would be creating a place in the writing sphere with their excellent style of writing, incisive views, and subject topics.

Let bishnupriyamanipuri.com becomes the first stepping stone for these budding Bishnupriya Manipuri writers. Let them hone their skills and get acquainted with the different style of writing and area of interest.

Going back in the initial days of the site, I could recall one day a Bishnupriya Manipuri gentleman fumbled and got a knee-jerk reaction seeing the veracity of the write-ups. Definitely he got impressed reading articles that are in English written by Bishnupriya Manipuri writers!

Now, it boasts off over dozen writers who have showcased their writing skills and area of interest. That’s a success in itself. No doubt there have been constant improvements on the part of the writers in their style of writings. And it does not end here; it will go on improving, and on and on.

Gestures of our competency come very visible when a company put in stake their name and brand by publishing their press releases and profile here in the site. It came first with the release of a press release related to a site devoted to General Election held in India recently.

The day might come when other community people start writing here. In this process something which expands our heart with proud, is with the fact that we the Bishnupriya Manipuri, the site bishnupriyamanipuri.com, have not been labeled communal and parochial in its approach and outlook. Since there runs a danger being tagged “communal”, “self-centered”, especially when it is catering to the interest of a particular community.

Very soon we will have articles taking stand on regional, national and international developments. The articles published will have different colour and tone altogether. We should not remain dumb and deaf which influence us as an Indian, a Bangladesh national. We should have a voice of our own, that is the demand coming from many readers and writers of the site.

Today is Erei (Friday)

The 'Star' Krishankant Sinha of Space City Sigma

By RK Rishikesh Sinha, New Delhi It is a myth that the all-knowing Internet knows everything. One such myth relates to old television stuff aired on Doordarshan before 1990. Search in Google “Space City Sigma”, the search engine would throw up reminiscent results from the people who still long for those days. Those days were really golden days. Krishankant Sinha in the role of Captain Tara in Space City Singma For those who have watched Doordarshan some 15 to 20 years back, am sure they will have nostalgic memories of it. The days when possessing a now ubiquitous looking television set was a luxury. It was a neighbour’s envy product. It was a visual product to showoff, to flaunt that we have a television set . Those were the days when black and white, locked television was rarely found in homes. The days became immortal for teleserials like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Swami’s Malgudi Days (Ta-Na-Na-Na…), Ek-Do-Teen-Char (Title song: Ek do teen char, chaaro mil ke saath chale to ...
