She has many cherished moments of her life. Whether it is performing in the Rabindra-Nazrul Birthday Celebration or it is giving her voice in the regional movies. Her one-after-another success hasn’t stopped her to limit herself. Her hard work gave her accomplishments and brought pride not only to her family but also to her village.

Bithi Sinha, the rising singer, who hails from Kalinjor (Singari) under Cachar District of Assam represented her team as the Lead Vocalist in All India Chorus Competition 2009 and awarded the title of Best Performing Team 2009 in Bengali Group Songs and the Best Performing Team 2009 in Regional Group Songs. Her team also bagged “Excellence” in the All India Chorus Competition of Patriotic Songs.

Born on July 20, 1985 to Birendra Kumar Sinha and Bilasini Sinha, Bithi is emerging as a bright talent in the field of music with a sweet, melodious and quality voice. She had started learning singing from the age of 9. She had undergone formal training on vocal and achieved various degrees in the field of music.

She achieved Visharad degree from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, Lucknow, in 1999; Visharad in Nazrul Geeti from Bangio Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata in 2001-02; Nipun from Bangio Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata in 2004-05 with distinction and passed Sangeetshree, a degree in Bishnupriya Manipuri Songs under Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sanskriti Parishad.

During her training in vocal music, Bithi had been guided by famous classical experts namely Pandit Motilal Sinha, Mrs Usha Rani Sinha, Miss Anima Sinha, Smt. Maitreyi Dam and others.

Bithi has been conferred with many awards for her best performances in various programmes and competitions. Her aim is to become a professional singer. Yet this young artist has a long way to go to curve a niche for herself in the musical world.

Her achievements are:

  • Performed Nazrul Geeti in All India Radio, Silchar in 2005 as “B” grade artist.
  • Stood First in Rabindra Sangeet in “A” category in Ramchandra Bhattacherjee Smriti Sangeet Pratiyogita O Sangeet Sanmelon in 2001.
  • Stood First in Patriotic songs Group “C” in Rabindra-Nazrul Birthday Celebration on 2001 organised by PIONEER, a socio-cultural organization of Silchar.
  • Stood First in Nazrul Geeti Group “E” in Nazrul Birth Anniversary Celebration observed on June, 2004.
  • Stood Second in BARAK IDOL 2005 organised by a Benevolence Group Silchar.
  • Participated in cultural programme in Agartala and Kamalpur on the occasion of RAAS PURNIMA 2003.
  • Participated in cultural programme at HAWAI, Arunachal Pradesh, and performed HINDI SONGS.
  • Participated in VOICE OF AXOM in Preliminary rounds in 2008.
  • Participated in Barak Valley based Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa Challenge 2008 organised by ARGHYA, a Socio-Cultural organisation of Silchar and stood SECOND.
  • Participated in TOPCEM Golden Voice of Barak competition 2008-09 organised by SMILE and became Champion getting the title GOLDEN VOICE OF BARAK 2008-09.
  • Participated in Vocal Training 2009 at Silchar organized by reputed Music Teachers of Kolkata during June 2009 and got excellence.
  • Selected as Special Vocal Artist of Silchar and got privilege of recording as many as Five songs at Kolkata in July, 2009.

I as a well wisher urge the people of our society to do his/her level best for Miss Bithi “to go by her talent” not only in Bishnupriya Manipuri Society but also to others. The search engine has been launched to get results exclusively on queries and information related to Assam. 'Bisarok', means 'to search' in Assamese language, has been launched and has been linked to various websites of the Government of Assam and departments, educational institutions and media. The search engine is likely to give a new online experience related to searches on Assam. Built on Google custom search engine, the search engine would be collating and building a database of web properties exclusively of the state in the North East region.
