The Times of India today in its Delhi edition supplement What’s Hot, has confirmed its mistake of publishing Shri Shri Shri Bhubaneshwar Sadhu Thakur as Shri Bhubaneshwar Sadhu Guru on its October 31 issue. The premier media group of India - The Times of India – has regretted the error done on their part.
However, the whole exercise done on the part of Henryy Sinha, BN Sinha, Jyotirmoy Sinha and myself, to correct the mistake is something worth mentioning.
It started with Henryy Sinha, composing a strong mail and sending it to the Times of India email id, the same mail was forwarded to many Bishnupriya Manipuri people [few names above mentioned in bcc].
In the forwarded mail, BN Sinha added his own reaction, and he sent it to TOI office marking it to other as well. The same exercise was done on the part of Jyotirmoy Sinha and me.
It ends up with publishing the ‘mistake’ news on this blog. The reaction was so intense that by evening it was confirmed that the media group is publishing the corrigendum.
Though, the Times of India carrying the corrigendum cannot be lauded as an achievement. But the exercise, the method employed, in tune with evolving mass tactic, is something that is appreciable.
