Bishnupriya Manipuri literary organisations are being invited to give support to the Government of India initiative of delivering knowledge about all the languages in India in multimedia (text, audio, video, images) formats through an online portal.
The project Bharatavani is a part of creating a Knowledge Society in the age of Digital India. The project is a initiative by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru has been entrusted with the task of implementing the project. The project will be guided by advisory committees on content and technology. Providing available knowledge already created by Government and publicly funded institutions all over India, and putting it across for the public usage, by deploying a robust, interactive, user friendly web tools is the main objective of Bharatavani Project.
Support from Bishnupriya Manipuri literary organisation is sought to generate leads about the content (dictionaries, knowledge resources, encyclopaedic information on non-fiction topics like agriculture, Culture, History, Science, Technology, Ecology etc., institutional publications like academies, NGO publications). And to provide list of people who are working in the "field of lesser known communities, remote areas where endangered languages exist."
