A committee has been set up to pay obeisance to Sahid Raj Babu Sinha, the first martyr who laid down his life for the sake of preserving the Bishnupriya Manipuri language and culture, on 14 March 2010 in Silchar.
For the smooth conduct of the occasion, a 33-men Committee was constituted on 28 December, 2009 in a meeting chartered by Hemkanti Sinha, a social activist of Guwahati.
Jogendra Kumar Sinha another social activist explained the purpose of the meeting in details.

The committee unanimously elected Mrs. KumKum Sinha, Deputy Director Elementary Education, Guwahati; Prof. Barun Kumar Sinha, Hailakandi, and Jogendra Kumar Sinha Retd. Headmaster, Masughat High School and educationist, as advisors.
