Sony's X Factor shows X factors of two northeasteners

In the Sony TV’s much-hyped talent show “X Factor”, two contestants from North East will show their singing talent. Tushar Arjun from Assam, a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant, and Smita Nandi from Tripura, a contestant of Zee TV Little Champ. X Factor starts on 29th May 2011.

Presented as world’s biggest singing talent show in India, Sony TV will be spending Rs 80 million on its marketing.

Those contestants who survive the first auditions graduate to "boot camp" and will then be divided into three categories: 16 - 25 years, individuals over 25 years and groups.

The singing talent show has roped in versatile playback singers Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghosal, and director Sanjay Leela Bansali, as judges.
