Sadhu Thakur birth anniversary at Hailakandi

The 141st birth anniversary of Sri Sri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur, the foremost saint of Bishnupriya Manipuri community was observed at Sri Sri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur Sevashram in Hailakandi with a two-day programme.

A meeting on the life and ideals of Sadhu Thakur was held under the chairmanship of the president of the Sevashram, Lal Mohan Sinha and was addressed by Barun Kumar Sinha, Ruhidas Sinha, Nishi Kanta Sinha among others. All the speakers highlighted the various activities of Sadhu Thakur for the upliftment of Bishnupriya Manipuri community. They also urged the people of the community to follow the ideals of Sadhu Thakur. The meeting informed the release of Rs 50,000 from the MLA’s LAD Fund of Karticksena Sinha, the lone MLA of Bishnupriya Manipuri community from Patherkandi, for the development of the Sevashram.

A cultural procession was also taken out on the occasion on the main streets of Hailakandi town with the portrait of Sadhu Thakur. Various other programmes including culturalprogramme, worshiping of Sadhu Thakur etc were also held on the occasion.
