GUWAHATI, May 19 – Noted Bishnupriya Manipuri Kirtanga singer Braja Kumar Sinha, popularly known as Pacha Ojha in the Bishnupriya Manipuri community, passed away at his Krishnanagar residence in Durlabchhara in Karimganj district yesterday.
He died of prolonged illness. He was 73. He leaves behind his wife, brother DILS Lakshmindra Sinha, sister Fulkumari Sinha, four sons, three daughters, two daughters-in-law and a host of grand children.
He was the recipient of Geetiswami Sanman. His death was widely mourned.
He was one among the kirtanango singers and writers in the Bishnupriya Manipuri community who had to work overtime to implement Bishnupriya Manipuri language in mahasankirtan.
