GUWAHATI, Nov 13: The Guwahati Chess Open Championship organised by Guwahati Chess Association concluded here today with Bipin Singha bagging the first prize followed with Chiraranjan Bhuyan and Pradip Bhuyan, stated a press release.

GUWAHATI, Oct 30: PC Borooah Chess Academy organised a chess tournament among the students of the academy in its premises in U-13 and U-9 age groups, stated a release.

The results: (U-9 boys) 1st-Dhritiman Bez (Assam jatiya Vidyalaya), 2nd-Manthan Kashyap Datta (Axel Public school), 3rd-Kunal Kalita (Don Bosco, Guwahati), 4th-Jigyashdipa Gogoi (Holy Home). (U-9 girls) 1st-Rishita Sinha (St Mary’s School), 2nd-Akansha Das (Axel’s Kindergarten), 3rd-Adit B Thekedath (Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti). U-13: 1st- Amian Mahanta (KV IOC), 2nd-Simran Ahmed (Pearl Valley), 3rd-Prachurjya Gayan (Holy Home), 4th-Ankit Das (DPS), 5th-Ritwick Sinha, 6th-Rishav Deuri (both Don Bosco, Guwahati).

Assam Search Engine: Bisarok

Exclusive search engine on Assam Manash Pratim Gohain, TNN Jun 16, 2012, 01.46PM IST NEW DELHI: Assam got its own search engine ' Bisarok '. The search engine has been launched to get results exclusively on queries and information related to Assam. 'Bisarok', means 'to search' in Assamese language, has been launched and has been linked to various websites of the Government of Assam and departments, educational institutions and media. The search engine is likely to give a new online experience related to searches on Assam. Built on Google custom search engine, the search engine would be collating and building a database of web properties exclusively of the state in the North East region. 'Bisarok' has been developed by RK Rishikesh Sinha, who had earlier created a similar custom search engine ('Bisarei') on Bishnupriya Manipuri.
