NBMM disowns statements by DILS Sinha, Singha Gautam

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: The Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Mahasabha (NBMM) has disowned the statements made by Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad (NBMSP) general secretary DILS Lakshmindra Sinha and NBMM vice-president Anil Singha Gautam against Assam Urban Development Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala on the issue of the proposed Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council stating that the statements were made by them without any permission from the NBMSP and the NBMM respectively. In a clarification on the news item appeared in The Sentinel on September 29, 2010 under the headline “Bishnupriya Manipuri bodies slam Goala and back Kartiksena”, NBMM secretary general Uday Sinha today said: “The comments made by DILS Sinha and Sinha Gautam were their personal and not of the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad and the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Mahasabha. Making such comments without any permission from the NBMSP and the NBMM is unwarranted.”

Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council: Few Pertinent Questions (Part I)

By Rebati Mohan Sinha On last 25th March 2010 there was an announcement in the floor of the House that the Government of Assam has agreed on principle to form three separate Social Economic Development Councils for Bishnupriya Manipuri, Nath Yugi and Maimal. And now the Cabinet Committee has given its nod.
