Samar Sinha releases book

Samar Sinha, a young budding Guwahati-based entrepreneur cum writer has released his fourth book “SATYAMRIT”. The 24-page book brilliantly put forth basic tenets of life.

In the thought-provoking book, the writer had reflected his own feelings of sentiments and basic principles of life which plays a key role in human’s life, in relationship, attitude and behaviour in an universal degree. The writer had pointed out the sensitive points involved in human’s life which show his in-depth thinking and a compilation of people’s common thoughtful knowledge that have a great impact on common people life and livelihood.

The other three books authored by Samar are Lengtihaan Nei Kalomgo (Collection of stories), published in 2006 it contains 5 stories; Dakula Oja “Girichan Singha” (Biography), published in 2007; and “Sendar Parar Yaari” (Collection of 15 Folk Tales), published in 2008.

Samar’s earlier works has been widely reviewed in the literary circle. Dr. Bhupen Sarma in his article “Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahityat Samprotik Sanjojan”, published in the Assamese daily “ASOMIYA PROTIDIN” (December 2, 2006) gave a detailed review on the book “Lengtihaan Nei Kalomgo”.

Dr. Bhupen Sarma quoted in the article (in Assamese) :“Bishnupriya Manipuri Bhashar Sahitya charcha kora manuhkhiniow aamar oti uchorore manuh. Mulotoh eowlok dakhin Asomor, sidha bhasat Barak upotakyar. Aamar Guwahati chorotaw eowlokor upostithi mon koribologiya.


He said that the language in the book is very simple and easy to understand and his literary conception is very balanced.

Dils Lakshmindra Sinha stated in the preface of the book Lengtihaan Nei Kalomgo that “Samar Sinha is a young budding writer who is trying to give a new shape to Bishnupriya Manipuri Literature by compiling his own creativity and natural in-depth thinking. Hope his entry in the literary world will help him to create a new image with his creative writings”.

Son of Smt. Rupleima Devi and Brojobilas Sinha, Samar hails from Garerband village, Karimganj district of Assam. He owns SSJ Enterprise & Printers in Guwahati.

He passed his matriculation in the year 1990 and took admission in Ramkrishna Nagar College. But due to financial crisis and poverty, he couldn’t continue his higher studies properly and failed in Higher Secondary exam in 1992. When he felt that his parents could not support him further financially to continue his higher studies, he left his village house and reached Guwahati in search of job. Staying in one of his paternal uncle’s house, he joined a private job with a low salary at Guwahati. After going through difficult circumstances of life, he had an immense desire to continue his higher studies and he appeared again for the Higher Secondary exam and passed the exam in the year 1994. Alongside he learnt the DTP course and joined an Offset Printing Press named “Rumi-Jhumi Enterprise” as a DTP operator.

After a long struggle with a low salaried private job at Guwahati, he decided to start his own business. He started his own business by opening his own Printing Press named “SSJ Enterprise & Printers” at Guwahati and his wife co-operated him to start his business.

Sparing from his busy life, he keeps interest in social activities and actively takes part in various society welfare activities. Samar assists Hirendra Sinha as an Assistant Director.

  2. I don't know if there are many folk stories in our community other than our Mythological stories of Mahabharata or Ramayana...So, if there are any, it wud be a great experience to read such stories...

  3. Hi Boss Vivek, You are talking about English and English. Can u explain about creative freedom in writing that pratibha has been carrying out. dear. this is complete creative freedom that she has been trying to portray. Don't bring english in between. we will be slave again. and we dont want to enslave. I mean it. let people write they feel comfortable. i am not giving emphasis on english for me creativity rules the roost.

A short history of the Bishnupriya Manipuri and their religio-cultural consciousness

Undoubtedly, the accurate period of the emergence or the development of religious consciousness of the Bishnupriya Manipuri is difficult to ascertain, but it is an old one that is undoubted, writes Rini Sinha , Guwahati .
