Ghazal singer Sushanta Sinha performs in Guwahati

It was a mesmerizing evening for all Guwahatians. Ghazal singer Sushanta Sinha’s soulful voice made their evening immemorable. In a programme named Bhajan Sandhya, the talented artist presented an hour-long solo performance, organized by Suhrid Sangha in Guwahati on September 29, 2009.


Bijoy Agarwal, the President of Suhrid Sangha Puja Committee, inaugurated the programme by felicitating the young artist with traditional Phulan Gamcha.


To enjoy this special evening, hordes of people visited the programme among which many Bishnupriya families also participated.

Porimal Sinha took the initiative and made all necessary arrangements to conduct the programme. Northeast’s premiere TV channel NE HiFi recorded the whole programme. It will be telecasted on 4 October 2009, at 07:00 pm.

      In a Bhajan Sandhya a ghazal singer is singing is quite absurd .
      Since I knew him for the last 10 years, he has been rendering only Bhajan Sangeet in Mumbai and else where,but how come he became Ghajal singer I just can't understand.His guruji is Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota.His albums are of only Bhajan Sangeet,not Ghajal.

      In response to the comment of Reboti uncle, thanks for the error you have pointed out on the news about the Sushant's identification and the error happened un-intentionaly, the word "Bhajan"- before "Ghazal singer" just dropped while editing and uploading the news.

      It is true that Shri Sushanta is basically a Bhajan Singer. Now, as he had also started singing famous Ghazals of Anup Jalota, Ghulam Ali, Medhi Hassan and had performed many programmes on Ghazals in Bangladesh and India in a appreciable manner. So, now we can address him also as a BHAJAN AND GHAZAL SINGER. His next desire and plan is to release his Ghazal albums in Bishnupriya Manipuri and Hindi language. All the music lovers should encourage him to sing Ghazals too along with Bhajans also and give him opportunity to come up with his songs with variety.
