Great People are above community line: MP Kabindra Purkayastha

‘The life and work of great people are above community line; their contribution is for humanity’, said Kabindra Purkayastha, MP, Silchar while speaking at the 140th Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur Abhirbhav Tithi held in New Delhi, on October 25, 2009.

The Minister said that we, the people of Barak valley feel proud that Great Saint Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur took birth in our land. He further added, if one looks back on the history of India 140 years ago, when it was under the British-colonial rule, it had a golden period; it gave birth to many social reformers like Swami Vivekananda and many other.

In his minute-long address, Purkayastha described the life and time of the social reformers and their contribution to the cause of social awakening of the masses. He said that he is obliged being present on the auspicious occasion of 140th birth anniversary celebration of Shri Shri Bhubaneswar Sadhu Thakur.

    Mr.Kabindra Purkayastha is a seating BJP MP.In Congress Ministry
    he can't be made a minister,so
    please make a correction in the first line of 2nd paragraph the words "the minster".
