Though I have never used the telegram extensively, but of course I had used the telegram service twice. And both the times I sent telegrams to my father asking for money. From our Correspondent SILCHAR, May 3: With a view to enable a better scope of education for the OBC students, Rajib Locan Pegu, Minister of the Department of Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes (WPT and BC) laid foundation stone for a hostel here recently. The RCC hostel, worth Rs 2.49 crore, will incorporate 100 boys and girls. While addressing the gathering at Bhubeneswar Sadhu Thakur Sevashram, situated just behind the hostel site, underlined the importance of such hostel in the town for the students belonging to other backward caste. Lauding the efforts of Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council for taking the initiative to establish the hostel, he said that any community would develop only through education. It is official now. After a long wait since its inception, the Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council (BMDC) has gone online with a new website http://bmdcassam.org  on 30 April 2013. Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council website The website would definitely meet the urge of the people who are  interested to know about the Council. Since in recent times, the number of netizens seeking information on Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council has increased. Presently, the global search is 100 people per month. On the same day, Assam Welfare Plain and Tribe and Backward Community minister Rajiv Luchan Pegu inaugurated a hostel for boys and girls at Silchar. Though too early to comment, the website doesn't carry contact address while it shows a gallery.  Also it has got some technical problem which could be easily rectified like having unique title page which is missing now.

Topo Singha Noted BM dramatist and short story writer of repute Indra Kumar Sinha had yet another feather in his cap on April 16, 2013 when the ‘Nuadristi Sahitya Puraskar – 2013’ was conferred on him at a litterateur-studded function at Gauhati Press Club. The editor of Nuadristi, Anjana Sinha, conferred the award on him at a function that was presided over by Sahitya Akademi award winner Atulananda Goswami who was flanked by poet Samir Tanti, BK Nath and top-rung Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Mohasabha (NBMM) leader Rebati Mohan Sinha as guests of honour. Earlier, the dramatist had received the BR Ambedkar Award, besides a number of other awards.   Nuadristi has been rendering valuable services to the Bishnupriya Manipuri community, their language and literature for the past 23 year. GUWAHATI, April 13 – The Nua Dristi Sahitya Puraskar-2013 instituted by Nua Dristi Prakashan, will be presented to well-known Bishnupriya Manipuri litterateur and playwright Indrakumar Singha at a function to be held at Guwahati Press Club here on April 16 at 3 pm, according to a press release.  The play Tinhan written by Singha, two books Prashnopanishad and Kathopanishad translated by Dr Binoy Bhushan Singha and Nua Dristi’s own monthly Bishnupriya Manipuri magazine Khuttal will also be released at the same function.
