Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council (BMDC) goes online

It is official now. After a long wait since its inception, the Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council (BMDC) has gone online with a new website http://bmdcassam.org on 30 April 2013.

The website would definitely meet the urge of the people who are interested to know about the Council. Since in recent times, the number of netizens seeking information on Bishnupriya Manipuri Development Council has increased. Presently, the global search is 100 people per month.

On the same day, Assam Welfare Plain and Tribe and Backward Community minister Rajiv Luchan Pegu inaugurated a hostel for boys and girls at Silchar.

Though too early to comment, the website doesn't carry contact address while it shows a gallery. Also it has got some technical problem which could be easily rectified like having unique title page which is missing now.

By Rebati Mohan Sinha On last 25th March 2010 there was an announcement in the floor of the House that the Government of Assam has agreed on principle to form three separate Social Economic Development Councils for Bishnupriya Manipuri, Nath Yugi and Maimal. And now the Cabinet Committee has given its nod. It will be placed in the House (not yet placed) and once it is passed, then a Ministerial Committee would consult the stake holders i.e. these three communities, regarding their aspirations and would send its recommendation accordingly to the Central Government for further action within the next two months.
