Rath Yatra Celebration in New Delhi

Nothing on the earth could strum the chord of your heart than being in the group of your ‘own’ people. You wore a smiling face, your always-revolving-mind starts revolving in a different orbit, you enquire about others and moreover you are being enquired who are not known to you, and ironically if everyone in the bevy of men and women, boys and girls swing to the tune of music, it comes as an ultimate masti. You feel your presence was worthful and you leave the place with a cheerful face, glowing eyes and with heavy heart - thinking: if such gathering possibly could take place every month.

Every person attending the socio-cultural rendezvous that took place at Manglapuri, New Delhi for the Rath Yatra had carried the same surge of emotions and feelings. The place appeared as a melting pot for all Bishnupriya Manipuri people leaving in New Delhi and NCR. The assimilation of the people was electrifying and perhaps magnanimous.

After all, all attendees had the opportunity to meet their friends, relatives and near and dear ones. The occasion came as cementing ties among Bishnupriya Manipuri people residing in New Delhi and NCR.

However, two events that took the sheen out the whole meeting and, of course will be remembered by all attendees were joidev and the Khichree. In joidev, irrespective of age and marital status, everybody participated thus making it fun-filled, jovial and intense. About Khichree, it was something that everybody appreciated the most. Seeing people taking Khichree in multiple of rows gave a magnificent look and feel, something that everybody will always cherish for.

Though, the whole affair ended informally, immediately after khichree with the humming appreciation all headed towards their place, thinking: if such gathering possibly could take place every month.

    I was waiting for this day since I came in Delhi...wat a day, wat a celebration...met with persons i admired, joined the 'jaidev' , n the khichdi...my fav Prasada...

    Ultimate Occasion and gathering too..Definitely that must be a great moment.....Different thing i noted by this article is this You got Khichdi in the form of Prasad....great and All the Best

    I was privileged to be with Shri Kajalkanti Sinha nd Shri Mohan Singh Choudhury at Radha kunda and
    heard from them the Rath Yatra Celebration at DELHI.I came to know that the people came from far away places could not stay up to the end of the celebration.Now, we should find a way out for such situation,so that maximum people can join.My request is to have palee at least three days at three
    different locations,reason being, people who could not join on first day,could join either on 2nd day or 3rd day.I hope, from now on, the BM Delhities will continue having khechurir palee every year.
